About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Admitting-Discharge Manager to oversee Patient Access Services (PAS), including Admitting, Discharge, Referrals, Authorizations, and Scheduling. This role is responsible for leading teams, improving processes, ensuring compliance, and driving high-quality patient access operations in a hospital setting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
5+ years of Admitting/Discharge supervisory experience in a hospital or physician office setting
Experience with scheduling, referrals, and patient access operations
Prior experience in a salaried (FLSA-exempt) leadership role
Proficient with EPIC and UKG Kronos Workforce
1+ year Emergency Department experience (Trauma, Adult, and/or Pediatrics)
1+ year Main Admitting experience (hospital, ASU, or outpatient departments)
Experience managing multiple schedules and teams
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Strong knowledge of Admitting and discharge workflows
Strong knowledge of Insurance verification, authorizations, and payer requirements
Strong knowledge of Medical terminology and basic coding principles
Ability to lead teams and manage performance
Ability to resolve complex patient access and admitting issues
Ability to deliver excellent customer service
Ability to analyze data and improve operational efficiency
Ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of Admitting, Discharge, Referrals, Authorizations, and Scheduling
Manage and support Admitting/Discharge Supervisors and staff
Resolve insurance, billing, and coding-related issues
Address and resolve patient complaints professionally and efficiently
Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and quality assurance practices
Track and report on KPIs and operational performance metrics
Serve as a liaison between departments to improve workflow and communication
Lead strategic planning and process improvement initiatives
