About The Position

The Admissions and Recruitment Counselor assists with all aspects of the J.D. and Graduate (LL.M. and MSL) admissions processes. The role reviews applications and renders or recommends admissions decisions, represents the law school at recruitment events, counsels prospective students about admissions, and implements strategies to recruit and yield prospective students. Duties include answering prospective students’ emails, conducting applicant interviews via Zoom, and attending virtual or in-person recruiting events. The position may involve occasional evening and weekend events and seasonal recruiting travel. It is a part-time position for a six-month period and is designated as telework; the university may review and change work mode designations as its needs evolve.

Requirements

J.D. or master’s degree.
Experience working in a very fast-paced environment.
Strong multitasking abilities.
Familiarity with Microsoft, especially Excel.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Ability to work with applicants, alumni, faculty, staff, and students.

Nice To Haves

Experience with student information systems or similar databases.
Working knowledge of web development technologies and emerging social media.

Responsibilities

Review and make recommendations on admissions files for LL.M. and J.D. applicants.
Answer emails from prospective students.
Conduct Zoom interviews of applicants.
Attend virtual and/or in-person recruiting events, including fairs, forums, and panels.
Counsel students regarding the admissions process.
Implement strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students.
Assist the Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions, and Director and Assistant Director of Admissions with other projects as assigned.
