About The Position

This position is responsible for the design, creation, updating, and documentation of functional and report processes for Undergraduate Admission. The Admissions Analyst will maintain and transfer Admission data within and between enterprise systems on campus. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining reports with complex coding for Admission, including MS SQL views and scripts, and exporting data into accessible report formats. The role involves monitoring data integrity within and across enterprise information systems, developing solutions to identify and fix data errors, and participating in the development, testing, implementation, and daily management of data interfaces, particularly with the Banner system. Additionally, the analyst will research, design, and implement portal solutions (staff, admitted student, prospect) using SLATE or other systems, assist in automating admission forms and integrating web-based processes for prospective students, and participate in departmental technology development and use statistics. The role also includes assisting in the development of accessible statistics for progress assessment and sharing with executive constituencies, participating in university-wide user groups, and performing other assigned duties. The position requires representing LMU within the Enrollment Management/Admissions community and at professional organizations, and serving on committees as required. Requirements

  • Typically a Bachelor degree, preferably in a quantitative or technically oriented field equivalent experience.
  • Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in functional management of information system required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: technical documentation, ms sql, mss excel, word, current trends in admission recruitment and evaluation; managing the use of complex data and information systems, familiarity with document imaging systems and processes.
  • Ability to compile data and run reports using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well in a functional and technical team environment, and to take direction and supervision.
  • Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of Microsoft Office ( Excel, Access, Word, and Powerpoint) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, update, and document functional and report processes for Undergraduate Admission.
  • Responsible for maintenance and transfer of Admission data within and between enterprise systems on campus.
  • Create and maintain reports requiring complex coding for Admission, including the creation of views with MS SQL, scripts and the export of data into accessible report formats for staff.
  • Monitor integrity of Admission’s data within and across enterprise information systems; develop solutions to identify data errors, including duplicate or inaccurate records, and to fix these errors before bad data is propagated.
  • Participate in the development, testing, implementation and management of data interface between Admission’s information system and other enterprise systems; exercise daily responsibility for the interface with the Banner system.
  • Research, design, and implement portal solutions for ease of use by the portal constituents. These include staff portals, Admitted student portals and prospect portals using SLATE or other systems as required by the project.
  • Assist in the automation of admission forms and the integration of web based processes to prospective students, including on line inquiry and application processes, allowing deployment of user self service functions.
  • Participate in departmental technology development, implementation and use statistics.
  • Assist in the development of accessible statistics to enable assessment of the progress and pace of Admissions daily work, and to share with executive constituencies across the University.
  • Participate in university wide user group discussions and projects as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Represent LMU within the Enrollment Management/Admissions community and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required.
