About The Position

This is a full-time position located at the Decatur County Health Department in Bainbridge, Georgia. The paygrade/salary ranges from C-$26,188 to E-$30,638, based on qualifications and experience. Job Codes are GSS080, GSS081, GSS082.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform basic office functions and computer-related duties
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to bend and reach up
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must consent to a motor vehicle record assessment. Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency.
  • Male applicants between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Public Health experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish), ability to interpret and translate health care information orally and in writing from English into Spanish and from Spanish into English
  • Completion of an associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • One or more years of experience performing complex office/administrative duties in a Medical Office setting
  • Experience entering and retrieving information in the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transaction Services (GRITS) database
  • Experience with Insurance & Medicare/Medicaid billing

Responsibilities

  • Provides outstanding customer service
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions in support of the Decatur County Health Department
  • Reviews patient records to determine status/eligibility for services needed
  • May be assigned to assist in other counties in the district
  • Maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security
  • Responds to Public Health Emergencies
