About The Position

The Wake Forest PA program within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, has a rich history of producing highly capable and competent clinicians. We are fortunate to have two campuses in North Carolina (Boone and Winston-Salem). The two-year PA program is divided into didactic/preclinical (1st year) and rotation/clinical education (2nd year). There are on average 88 students in each class with 24 of those on the Boone campus. The Department of PA Studies (DPAS) is seeking a PART TIME administrative support associate who will be located on the Boone campus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with academic curriculum coordinator, operations administrator, and associate program director to provide campus and program administrative support.
  • Liaison with Appalachian State University and Office of the Dean in Leon Levine Hall, to coordinate communication, space needs, and faculty/staff/student access & onboarding.
  • Submits ASU repair and maintenance work orders as requested.
  • Schedules and arranges travel for Boone faculty and staff as requested.
  • Support smooth curriculum delivery for preclinical year by setting up teleconference in PA classroom as well as set-up and tear down for curricular events or labs.
  • Assisting with preclinical end-of-unit exams and assessments – room set-up, activity support, catering.
  • Support smooth curriculum delivery for clinical year courses Clinical Year Prep and Preparing Future Professionals for Boone campus.
  • Assist with set-up and tear-down for curricular courses as well as related assessments.
  • Proctors end of rotation exams on Boone campus.
  • Participates in building tours for prospective students
  • Maintain office supply and student lounge inventory.
  • Prepares annual inventory of program fixed assets.
  • Will ensure adequate back-up and cross-coverage to Boone campus, as requested.
  • Maintain standard operating processes, shared calendars, checklists and timelines.
  • Meet regularly with Boone team to ensure seamless communication and understanding of ongoing needs or issues.
  • Manage campus invoices and payments. Responsibilities include: collecting documentation, submitting payment requests, saving documentation, and communicating payment details to the director of operations.
  • Beyond overseeing curricular and administrative components, this position supports the entire DPAS team during high-demand periods
  • Serve as staff support for assigned department committees
  • Engage with external community stakeholders through other events such as quarterly community engagement, Camp Med, and other program events
