About The Position

The Administrative Support Coordinator II plays a central role in supporting the academic and operational success of the department. Working closely with the Department Chair, faculty, and College partners, this position coordinates a wide range of administrative functions, including academic personnel processes, curriculum and scheduling support, budget-related activities, and daily operations. The role serves as a key point of coordination and communication, ensuring processes run smoothly, timelines are met, and policies are applied consistently. Requirements

  • Fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices.
  • Ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages.
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with On Base, Banner, and PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.

Nice To Haves

  • Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic.
  • Lead and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations in a university setting is preferred.
  • Experience maintaining budgets is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate academic personnel, curriculum, and scheduling processes in collaboration with faculty and College partners.
  • Support financial and budget-related activities, including tracking expenditures and maintaining documentation.
  • Manage administrative workflows, timelines, data entry, and communications across multiple stakeholders.
  • Utilize university systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, and OnBase to maintain accurate records and processes.
  • Exercise independent judgment to interpret policies, resolve issues, and handle sensitive or complex situations.
