About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Director for Career Education and Equity, the Administrative Support Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Career Education team and ensures alignment with university, division, and department policies and procedures while cultivating cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of contacts including university officials, administrators, faculty, staff, and students. This position provides comprehensive administrative support and coordination for the Career Education Team, with responsibilities including operations; budget and personnel support; communication and implementation of policies and procedures; data entry and tracking related to various career education engagement projects; and coordinating first-year impact programming and projects in a busy office while supporting the Associate Director.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate policy requirements clearly and effectively to students, staff, and campus partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to the work area.
  • Ability to understand problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of decisions on other areas.
  • Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Ability to apply ingenuity and independent judgment to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise resourcefulness, and independently follow through on job duties.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in systems, procedures, and priorities while maintaining continuity of operations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to speak and present information to groups.
  • Ability to revise and produce written materials for promotions, presentations, workshops, and marketing purposes.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Type 45 wpm.
  • Five years of general office support or technical experience. (Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience).
