About The Position

The Office of the Secretary of State is a constitutional office within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Secretary of State serves as the Commonwealth’s Chief Election Officer, Chief Business Official, and Chief Advocate for Civic Engagement. There are three offices within the department: Office of Administration, Office of Business and Office of Elections. This position is within the Office of Administration. The Administrative Specialist primary role is to provide professional support in the review, evaluation, development, and implementation of the Office of the Secretary of State’s activities. This position is responsible for handling all inquiries related to business services for the Commonwealth of Kentucky to include, Corporate Filings, Corporate Record, Uniform Commercial Code, Trademarks, Notaries, Apostilles, and Summons regarding knowledge of statutes, regulations, and policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Receives all incoming phone calls.
  • Assists constituents with basic information from all departments.
  • Prepares and updates frequently asked questions.
  • Tracks all changes to office procedures to better communicate with constituents.
  • Provides back-up to other areas of the Office of Administration.
