The successful candidate will, with minimal supervision, provide professional support to the Law Enforcement Division Director and other senior management in the efficient operation of statewide law enforcement personnel, programs, projects and activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain extensive interview and selection processes for Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) and agency academy certified officers. Execute functions for complex organizational segments utilized in the selection processes, and recommend policy additions or changes as needed.
  • Interpret, perform, analyze and recommend division policies for statewide administrative processes including travel, purchasing requisitions and invoices, pro-card management, mileage submissions and reports, special investigation processes, etc. Checks administrative work to ensure proper completion and submission.
  • Communicate with division staff and general public by phone, electronic format and/or in person to resolve inconsistencies or inaccuracies in submitted records and/or reports. Interprets statutes, regulations and policies to division staff and general public.
  • Compiles complex reports and summaries of statistical information reflecting various law enforcement matters including citations, complaints, investigations, requests, restitutions, evaluations and Command Staff Meetings.
