About The Position

The Viral Disease Prevention and Services (VDPS) Branch within the Kentucky Department for Public Health protects and promotes the health of Kentuckians in the areas of Human Immunodeficiency Virus services, prevention and surveillance. This work is interesting and critical to keeping Kentuckians healthy and ending the Human Immunodeficiency Virus epidemic. If you are a person who loves contributing to the health of populations, this is the job for you. This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non- merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
