About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), Pulaski County Area Technology Center in Somerset, KY has an opening for an Administrative Specialist Senior. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) OCTE, operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)- course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional support to the Area Technology Center (ATC) Principal in developing, implementing and maintaining various programs, projects or activities in the area center.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
