About The Position

This position supports the Maryland Department of Health’s (MDH) mission of providing exceptional customer service, and timely workflow of DDA's constituent correspondence within MDH. This position reports to the Director of Constituent Services for DDA. This position is a key role in the DDA's correspondence process, managing the initial intake of correspondence and supporting the controlled correspondence workflow from intake to closure. The Office of Constituent Services serves directly at the pleasure of the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health. Each administration within the Maryland Department of Health works closely with the Office of Constituent Services (OCS). This position will work to respond to any assigned DDA intranet inquiries and will work with OCS.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
  • One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work
  • Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication, along with active listening skills
  • Experience resolving issues and handling conflict efficiently
  • Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn and use specific software, such as CRM systems

Responsibilities

  • Managing the initial intake of correspondence
  • Supporting the controlled correspondence workflow from intake to closure
  • Responding to assigned DDA intranet inquiries
