About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) Temporary Solutions, classified as an Administrative Specialist II (S). The agency's mission is to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of its employees. This role is located at 1 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27592- Wake County, with the Department of Transportation. The position will report directly to the security manager and will be responsible for various administrative duties, including filling in when the visitor coordinator is not available. Temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time and must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative, aiming to enhance temporary employees' skill sets for future State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agency's culture, processes, and procedures can provide valuable experience for those seeking permanent employment with the state.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process all invoices related to security operations, including stamping and obtaining management signatures.
  • Review security procedures for accuracy and substance.
  • Field customer requests and needs (walk-ins and calls) and direct questions to the security operating center or resolve as needed.
  • Receive and file all requests for keys, locks, and any other door-related needs.
  • Manage the lost and found process.
  • Submit service tickets to facilities management.
  • Review and process all SBI reports and filing for record purposes.
  • Act as a parking coordinator.
  • Scribe specific meetings, file documents, and follow up with management as needed.
  • Order office supplies and maintain an annual review of assets.
  • Address concerns and oversee the visitor's front lobby desk.
  • Serve as the Department of Administration's (DOA) point of contact when orders are received to lower the State and/or The American Flag.
