About The Position

This position is located at Piedmont Correctional Institution in Salisbury, NC (Rowan County), a medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates. The employee will perform a variety of office and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of documents or materials. The employee must effectively maintain files/records according to departmental policy to allow quick access and retrieval of information requested. This position ensures all records are initiated, processed, and transferred in a correct and timely manner. The position will report to the Institutional Classifications Co-Ordinator.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a filing system

Responsibilities

  • Efficient operation of offender movement, housing coordination, and records management within the facility
  • Organization of the offender filing system, which directly supports institutional operations, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Track offender transfers in and out of the facility, ensuring accountability and accuracy at all times
  • Data entry and recordkeeping
