Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage Municipal Division is seeking a decisive, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and goal oriented professional who is committed to total quality management and superior customer service. Under the direction of Court Executive 2B (Municipal Division Manager), the Court Executive 1B (Assistant Division Manager), and other supervisory personnel, the selected candidate will perform professional administrative functions in overseeing and supporting the Vicinage's 37 municipal courts. The selected candidate must be able to work independently and posses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Will be able to provide information to court users, judges, municipal court staff, members of the bar, other divisions of the Superior Court, and outside agencies. NOTE: Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. Travel within the multi county vicinage is required. REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants who are approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply. If selected, the applicant must complete their degree no later than their start date.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and system access assistance to municipal court judges and municipal court staff on Online DisputeResolution, JEDS, Expungement Portal, etc.
  • Operate audio/video equipment, electronic or manual information systems; troubleshoot as needed
  • Monitor the on-boarding process for new municipal court judges and staff; assisting with P-Synch
  • Develop manuals, guides, best practices and other materials on how to use relevant technical systems used by the municipal courts including Zoom
  • Responsible for scheduling POMCA trainings and monitor accreditation/certification of court administrators
  • Act as a liaison to provide excellent service to all internal and external stakeholders by reviewing court activities for compliance with procedures, laws, court rules or administrative directives
  • Review and monitor statistical reports; informing management about the status of work progress and other related matters
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and trainings for municipal court staff
  • Act as a "loss of liberty coordinator” by monitoring the daily Central Judicial Processing calendar to provide pertinent information for the Judge to conduct bail reviews, as well as jail roster to ensure there are no delays in the prompt release of detained defendants
  • Work with the municipal courts to ensure warrants are recalled, or defendants are scheduled in the municipal courts expeditiously upon commitment to the county jail on a municipal court warrant
  • Coordinate, schedule, moderate and conduct virtual sessions via Zoom and or TEAMS
  • Schedule and monitor of various hearings, including but not limited to, warrant review hearings and civil commitment hearings
  • Provide support and guidance help for remote court operations
  • Conduct annual on-site visitations
  • Provide on-site technical issues
