About The Position

The Department for Children & Families, Family Services Division Hartford District is seeking a temporary Administrative Services Technician IV to join their team. The goal is to promote safety, permanency, wellbeing, and law abidance for children in need, with the work supporting Family Service Workers and other staff in achieving this mission. The role involves meaningful, challenging, and critical work for the safety and well-being of Vermont's children and families. The ideal candidate will be flexible, maintain a positive and professional attitude, be confident in Excel and Word, and enjoy learning and using new systems. They should also have a demonstrated ability to manage deadlines with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. The work is fast-paced, and this position is often the first contact the public has with the local FSD office. Other duties may include developing and maintaining documents and spreadsheets, ordering and coding invoices, taking meeting minutes, managing and tracking files, answering phones, greeting clients, and other assigned tasks. This is a temporary position with an anticipated end date of the end of January 2027. The position will work approximately 22 hours per week, with the daily schedule varying based on office business needs.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
  • One (1) year of College level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.
  • One (1) year as an Administrative Services Technician III with the State of Vermont.
  • Confidence in Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines with a high level of attention to detail/accuracy of data entry
