Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree and 5 years required.
  • Five years of working experience with budgets, financial and position analysis required in developing budgets, formulating complex spreadsheets, researching and analyzing data, and problem solving.
  • Three years of HR experience in faculty workload, faculty assigned time, lecturer contracts, lecturer entitlement, additional employment, tenure-track faculty and staff recruitment, staff training and relationships, and student worker hiring including graduate assistants, instructional student assistants, and federal work study students.
  • Experience in campus procurement, travel, accounts payable, and accounts receivable policies and procedures.
  • Experience in degree program budget development and revenue analysis.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in analyzing financial, human resources, and enrollment data from multiple sources, interpreting information to make sound recommendations, and implementing necessary changes.
  • Solid understanding of financial operating procedures, including budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, travel, facilities, telecommunications, grants, self-support programs, external funds, and reimbursements, as well as collective bargaining agreements and related policies to effectively advise the Dean.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills to create complex spreadsheets, conduct detailed analyses, and prepare clear, comprehensive financial reports for college leadership and the Provost’s Office.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships across the campus community.
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to support and promote student success initiatives, all while applying sound general accounting and budget control principles.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of all fiscal policies and procedures in COB and university.
  • Serves and the resource person for the department chairs and staff on fiscal management and interpretation of fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Manage the financial affairs of the college and implement the college's resource allocation plans, including General Funds, Continuing Education Funds, Lottery, Instructional Related Activities, Course Fees, External Revenue, Research and LB Foundation Funds, and other sources of revenue.
  • Responsible for staff recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation processes.
  • Manage faculty, staff and administrator position allocation.
  • Provide assistance and guidelines in tenure-track faculty recruitment processes.
  • Review all hiring paperwork in accordance with campus search protocol.
  • Work with the Associate Dean to meet college's enrollment targets set by the Division and manage faculty allocations to achieve college's targets within the available resources.
  • Work with department chairs and Director of CBA Student Success Center on the numbers of class sections and monitor class sizes.
  • Oversee Director of IT on special projects regarding building and classroom upgrades.
  • Submit SEF - Tech proposal for college and identifies instructional technology needs for college.
