About The Position

Provides general service, repair, and maintenance support to company buildings and grounds. This includes general office equipment and workstation maintenance, custodial services, attending to pool vehicles, and salvage retrieval. The ideal candidate would be at least 18 years old to operate mowers and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School education and related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess and maintain current, valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work in a harmonious manner with co-employees and supervisors.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to accept supervision and work independently to follow instructions.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established guidelines.
  • Ability to use interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-employees, customers and the public with tact and courtesy.
  • Ability to operate hand tools.
  • Ability to climb and work from a ladder as needed.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance to meet the customer needs of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with outside building and grounds maintenance including lawn mowing, trimming shrubs, bushes, and trees, and weeding and tending flower beds. Assists with snow and ice removal from walkways, sidewalks, etc.
  • Assists with inside building maintenance including painting areas, dismantling/constructing work areas and moving furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Assists with cleaning and maintenance of work areas, storage areas, tools, and machinery.
  • Assists with inventory tracking of company furniture, computer equipment and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Maintains and cleans company vehicles by washing, waxing, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets and upholstery, cleaning glass, polishing vinyl, checks fluid levels, measures tire pressure, fills with gas and conducts safety inspections.
  • Assists with pick-up and delivery of claim salvage, field equipment or furniture. Prepares salvage, equipment or furniture for reassignment, sale, or disposal.
  • Performs custodial activities such as vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, restocking supplies, emptying trash and recycling containers, clean white boards, tables, windows, doors, vents, etc. to maintain the building in and clean and sanitary condition.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
