About The Position

The Office of Juvenile Justice is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Administrative Program Manager 1 to oversee essential business operations that support the agency’s financial, purchasing, inventory, and compliance functions. This role requires a dependable professional who can manage complex administrative systems, supervise staff, and ensure accuracy across multiple operational areas.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • Must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c)
  • Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License.
  • Must clear a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform administrative functions across accounting, purchasing, inventory, property control, fleet, mail operations, and professional contractor coordination.
  • Lead three staff members; manage leave, evaluations, training, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Oversee key financial processes including petty cash, Imprest accounts, deposits, reconciliations, and required reporting.
  • Manage Inmate Banking and canteen operations, including deposits, disbursements, inventory, and sales reconciliation.
  • Process purchasing requests, renew licenses/certifications, and support Visa procurement card transactions.
  • Conduct property control and fleet audits; maintain safety, compliance, and ORM documentation.
  • Coordinate with auditors, vendors, and agency staff to resolve operational issues and ensure accurate documentation.
