About The Position

As an Administrative Officer 2 with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will play a key role in supporting learning and development at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. This position gives you the opportunity to coordinate meaningful training that helps staff stay prepared and capable. You will help ensure that employees have the tools, guidance, and resources they need to perform their duties with skill and professionalism. Your work will strengthen the facility and support its mission of quality and excellence.

Requirements

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree ; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all in-service and out-service training for facility staff
  • Maintain training records and monitor employee training hours to ensure compliance with standards
  • Conduct orientations, issue identification cards, and assist new staff with questions and facility information
  • Review training feedback and develop annual training plans to meet staff and facility needs
  • Lead quarterly training committee meetings and advise leadership on training resources and requirements
  • Monitor instructor certifications and coordinate required trainings to maintain a qualified instructor pool
