About The Position

The Department of Corrections invites you to bring your leadership skills to the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill as a Registered Nurse Supervisor. This position gives you the opportunity to support quality care for individuals in a secure environment. Requirements

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Guide nurses and support personnel in delivering clinical and administrative tasks
  • Monitor patient needs and coordinate nursing activities to support consistent care
  • Administer medications, assist clinicians, and provide direct care when needed
  • Maintain accurate reports, document care, and manage shift communication
  • Monitor medical supplies and ensure treatment areas remain stocked
  • Participate in required training to maintain and strengthen job knowledge
