About The Position

The Administrative Nurse Manager maintains the standards of practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. The Administrative Nurse Manager actualizes the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. This position is accountable to the Clinical DON for overall management of the Resource Center systems, processes, and personnel to ensure compliance with the standards and regulations of the Montefiore Health System and Regulatory Agencies. Accountable with the Associate Clinical Director IV and Members of Nursing Executive Council in a shared governance model to plan, develop, implement and evaluate the scope of practice for nursing service staff, nursing professional practice standards and patient care outcomes.

Requirements

  • BSN Required
  • New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N. Required
  • 5 plus years of clinical experience Required
  • Demonstrates clinical leadership, problem solving skills, competency and principles of Montefiore Excellence.
  • Computer literate
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal relationships, effective English communication skills, (written, oral, and interpersonal) ability to problem solve, ability to motivate, develop, and coach individuals and groups, ability to appropriately confront issues, and ability to think creatively.
  • A strong commitment to furthering institutional performance measures through interdisciplinary teamwork is essential.

  • Responsible for oversight of academic teaching within the program.
  • Engage 1-2 NP students per year for training as a Psychiatric NP preceptee
  • Manage academic relationships between local MSN programs
  • Provide academic and clinical supervision as appropriate to Nurse Practitioners
  • Demonstrates advanced Nurse Practitioner knowledge and skills necessary to provide coverage and training appropriate to the patient population.
  • Will provide appropriate coverage and training for Med Management, Treatment Resistant Depression Suite, and any Nursing related needs.
