About The Position

The Ambulatory Operations Administrative Fellowship is a highly immersive, hands-on opportunity for early-career professionals seeking to build a strong foundation in healthcare operations. Fellows work directly with ambulatory and executive leaders to improve access, efficiency, patient experience, and quality outcomes across a large, complex outpatient network. This fellowship offers broad exposure, hands-on project ownership, and close mentorship—preparing fellows for future leadership roles in ambulatory operations while supporting mobility into diverse healthcare administration pathways. Fellows are embedded within ambulatory clinic operations and collaborate with leaders across 132 clinics, 15 service lines, and 25 divisions. Through project-based work, fellows gain firsthand experience in the operational, financial, and strategic dimensions of outpatient care while contributing to initiatives that directly impact patients and care teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Scheduled to certify, license or graduate within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide meaningful, real-world exposure to ambulatory operations and healthcare administration.
  • Develop competencies in project management, process improvement, financial analysis, and leadership.
  • Foster mentorship and professional growth through direct engagement with executive and operational leaders.
  • Prepare fellows for leadership roles in ambulatory care or healthcare operations.
  • Hands-on exposure to operational metrics, performance improvement, and project management.
  • Professional development in leadership, communication, and healthcare administration.
  • Partner with clinic and department leaders to assess, redesign, and improve operational workflows.
  • Support strategic initiatives including patient access optimization, space and capacity planning, staffing models, and patient throughput.
  • Analyze operational and financial data; develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to support leadership decision-making.
  • Lead or co-lead projects aligned with ambulatory and organizational priorities.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across clinical, operational, and administrative functions.
  • Coordinate, attend, and actively contribute to leadership and governance meetings.
