About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for an Administrative Coordinator within the UNLV Student Wellness, Disability Resource Center. This role reports to the Associate Director of the Disability Resource Center and is responsible for coordinating complex administrative, operational, and service-delivery functions to support equitable access for students with disabilities. The position integrates accommodation coordination, student worker logistics, office operations, budgeting, and assistive technology support to ensure high-quality Disability Resource Center services. It requires strong organizational judgment, regulatory awareness, and the ability to manage multiple interdependent workflows. The Administrative Coordinator will collaborate with the Student Wellness Administrative Coordinator to facilitate hiring of student workers and temporary employees, ensuring compliance with NSHE and UNLV policies and procedures, as well as FERPA and ADA standards. This role directly manages the Disability Resource Center’s furniture placement and classroom relocation responsibilities. Additionally, the position assists the director and associate director with the compilation, organization, editing, and production of annual reports, evaluations, grant reports, research projects, and presentations. The Administrative Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituents regarding Disability Resource Center operations, initiatives, and programs/services, coordinating with students, parents, faculty, staff, university leaders, NSHE staff, and community partners. The role requires managing highly confidential and sensitive information, possessing significant knowledge of state and federal laws (FERPA, ADA, 504), maintaining a professional demeanor, and demonstrating basic skills in de-escalation and assisting students who may be stressed or overwhelmed. Essential abilities include effective communication, complex problem-solving, timely and accurate organization and execution of multifaceted assignments with minimal oversight, strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and respect for diversity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Ability to work occasional evening hours.
  • A minimum of one-year work experience.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, applicants may qualify with four additional years of relevant experience, or with an associate's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience.
  • Significant knowledge of and experience with state and federal laws, including FERPA, ADA, and 504.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to solve complex and often time sensitive problems.
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prepare, coordinate, implement and follow through on multifaceted assignments in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage highly confidential and sensitive information with the utmost care.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor as a representative of The Disability Resource Center and UNLV.
  • Possess basic skills and knowledge related to de-escalation and assisting students who may present as feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
