About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the UNLV Student Wellness, Disability Resource Center (DRC). This role reports to the Associate Director of the DRC and is responsible for coordinating complex administrative, operational, and service-delivery functions to ensure equitable access for students with disabilities. The position integrates accommodation coordination, student worker logistics, office operations, budgeting, and assistive technology support. The Administrative Coordinator will collaborate with the Student Wellness Administrative Coordinator to facilitate hiring of student workers and temporary employees, ensuring compliance with NSHE and UNLV policies, FERPA, and ADA standards. This role directly manages furniture placement and classroom relocation for the DRC to meet student needs. Additionally, the position assists directors with the compilation, organization, editing, and production of annual reports, evaluations, grant reports, research projects, and presentations. The Administrative Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituents regarding DRC operations, initiatives, and programs/services, interacting with students, parents, faculty, staff, university leaders, NSHE staff, and community partners. The role requires managing highly confidential and sensitive information, possessing knowledge of FERPA, ADA, and 504, and maintaining a professional demeanor. Basic de-escalation skills and the ability to assist stressed or overwhelmed students are necessary. Key skills include effective communication, complex problem-solving, organization, planning, preparation, coordination, implementation, timely follow-through, accuracy with minimal oversight, strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and respect for diversity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Ability to work occasional evening hours.
  • A minimum of one-year work experience.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
  • Significant knowledge of and experience with state and federal laws, including FERPA, ADA, and 504.
  • Basic skills and knowledge related to de-escalation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to solve complex and often time sensitive problems.
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prepare, coordinate, implement and follow through on multifaceted assignments in a timely manner.

  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, applicants may qualify with four additional years of relevant experience, or with an associate's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience.
  • For positions requiring a master’s degree, acceptable equivalents include: Six additional years of relevant experience, A bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of relevant experience, An associate degree plus four additional years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage highly confidential and sensitive information with the utmost care.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor as a representative of The Disability Resource Center and UNLV.
  • Possess basic skills and knowledge related to de-escalation and assisting students who may present as feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
  • Effectively communicate, solve complex and time-sensitive problems, and organize, plan, prepare, coordinate, implement and follow through on multifaceted assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure work is accurate and completed with minimal oversight.
