About The Position

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact at the agency's Child Welfare Office in Tangipahoa Parish. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the front office. The position offers clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants, and clients of the Tangipahoa Parish Child Welfare office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competencies in Communicating Effectively, Accepting Direction, and Focusing on Customers. Preferred competencies include Adapting to Change and Displaying Professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors in a cordial manner and maintains office procedure.
  • Receives correspondence and notifies staff of receipt.
  • Creates purchase orders.
  • Inputs invoices into Vendor Invoice Portal.
  • Completes Office Space Utilizations Quarterly Reports.
