About The Position

FCNI is a community-focused non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope, stability, support, and empowerment to those in need in San Luis Obispo County. The organization is seeking a Development Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for coordinating communications, providing administrative support, participating in community engagement, and supporting fundraising efforts. The Development Coordinator will be instrumental in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, community groups, volunteers, and staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an administrative role or related field
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database systems
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) with a customer-service mindset
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information

  • Spanish Bilingual differential - 10% increase on the employee's hourly base rate of pay

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for Donor and Community partner inquiries via email and phone calls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, community groups, volunteers, and staff.
  • Coordinate department communication and correspondence- both internally and externally, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and workgroups related to Development activities, providing administrative support and assistance as needed.
  • Enter gifts, track donor records and communication within the CRM system. Ensure that all required documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with agency requirements.
  • Work directly with social workers and program staff to identify client and program needs and translate them into donor or community support opportunities, including procurement of in-kind donations.
  • Attend and assist with community and agency events, mixers, presentations, and other opportunities to represent the organization and cultivate support.
  • As needed, serve as support and/or back-up for other agency administrative functions or duties.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
