The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. This position serves as the agency’s front-line support to the public by assisting members with case updates, answering questions about benefits and eligibility, supporting outreach events, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of important information. Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist applicants and enrollees with walk-in inquiries and provide professional customer service regarding eligibility services.
  • Answer and manage incoming office telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff.
  • Receive, review, sort, image, and route incoming documentation to Eligibility Analysts for timely processing.
  • Process demographic updates and other routine case actions to support timely eligibility determinations.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical files and records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepare and process outgoing correspondence and mail to applicants, enrollees, and other appropriate parties.
  • Provide administrative support to Eligibility Field Operations staff and perform other duties as necessary to promote efficient and timely access to Medicaid services.
