About The Position

The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical support for the FCA field office to accomplish the FCA mission and vision and reflect the FCA Core Values in the ongoing work of that office. These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship. Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement. Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA. Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others. Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement. Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times. The Eastern Iowa FCA Donor and Volunteer Care Admin supports staff and the leadership board by cultivating and expanding relationships and resources. As Eastern Iowa FCA continues to grow its reach, this role is essential in building a strong team to support the next phase of development. This position focuses on strategically engaging donors and volunteers, fostering meaningful connections, and strengthening the overall FCA community to drive sustained growth.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for appointments/meetings with staff, ministry partners, vendors, etc.
  • Handles travel arrangements for assigned staff.
  • Receives and screens telephone calls and emails for area office.
  • Retrieves, opens, and distributes office mail.
  • Plans, organizes, and completes assigned work in a timely manner.
  • Manages development of resources and meets deadlines of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates donor ministry events, banquets, staff meetings, etc.
  • Develop and implement donor and volunteer care strategies
  • Identify and bridge the gap between current care practices and desired engagement
  • Cultivate a culture of generosity within the Eastern Iowa FCA community
  • Assist in growing Eastern Iowa’s network of prospective donors and volunteers
  • Connect current and prospective donors and volunteers with staff, huddles, and events
  • Develop and execute donor appreciation strategies, including: Sending thank-you, congratulations, and birthday notes or cards, Planning and supporting appreciation events such as the End-of-Year Event / Night of Champions
  • Assist with donor communications and share stories that highlight God’s work through FCA
  • Capture photos at huddles and events for use in donor communications and social media
  • Organize weekly emails and social media posts; communicate needs to In2it Digital
  • Assist in managing the Eastern Iowa website
  • Assist staff and volunteers with the Volunteer Impact Portal (VIP)
  • Facilitate the FCA Prayer Group
  • Support the Area Director in scheduling and preparing donor meetings
  • Collaborate with the Eastern Iowa Events Coordinator to promote local events
