About The Position

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Accessibility and Inclusion team, focusing on organizational tasks that help implement CNIB's Reconciliation Strategy and Accessibility and Inclusion Roadmap. The Administrative Assistant will help coordinate and support inclusion and accessibility initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational culture. The Administrative Assistant will assist with employee education materials related to accessibility and inclusion. This position will work with CNIB teams to provide administrative support for removing barriers and ensuring accessibility and inclusion principles are embedded within our programs, policies, and practices. In collaboration with the Accessibility and Inclusion Team and Accessibility and Inclusion Committee, the Administrative Assistant will help coordinate activities related to the Reconciliation Strategy and the Inclusion Calendar.

Requirements

  • Between the ages of 15 – 30 years
  • Eligible to work within Canada
  • Strong Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Experience in accessibility and inclusion work an asset
  • Experience in human rights and community support work an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support communication between the Accessibility and Inclusion Team, associated working groups and committees as well as other departments throughout the organization.
  • Provide administrative support for the Accessibility and Inclusion team.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings, taking minutes and following up on action items
  • Assist in organizational initiatives related to the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations Program.
  • Organize and maintain digital files and records related to accessibility and inclusion initiatives
  • Assist in compiling existing content for initiatives related to accessibility and inclusion
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the Inclusion Calendar
  • Assist in the review and revision of documents to ensure accessibly
  • Support the coordination of scheduling and logistics for training sessions and events
  • Support the development of accessibility and inclusion training materials and resources
  • Assist with tracking initiative progress and flagging gaps and delays
  • Contributing to training materials and resources
  • Support communication that helps shape awareness and engagement
  • Assist in resource collection and distribution for key national observances.
