About The Position

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Office Administrative Assistant to join our team to support projects in Reading, PA. This is a full-time, on-site position and candidates must live within commutable distance of Reading, PA. Candidates must be able to work in an office environment Monday - Friday. This position is NOT eligible for hybrid or remote work. Candidates with experience in supporting construction or engineering projects are strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Advanced computer skills for Microsoft Office suite including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Three years of experience as an administrative assistant or secretary, preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles for budget tracking.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer drug (including Marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Familiarity with engineering terminology and documentation is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting construction or engineering projects are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to project managers and technical managers throughout the project life cycle
  • Provide administrative support to engineering staff by managing schedules, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Prepare and format reports, presentations, and technical documents as required by the engineering department.
  • Assist in maintaining project related files.
  • Coordinate communication within the engineering team and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient information flow.
  • Project set-up, processing purchase orders and working with project managers for project award
  • Assist in preparing project deliverables and progress reports
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, including room bookings and catering arrangements.
  • Collaborate with HR to facilitate onboarding processes for new engineering team members.
  • This position requires discretion and independent judgment with regard to support services for company and client management.
