About The Position

The Teton County Fair & Fairgrounds is seeking a seasonal Administrative Assistant to support the team during the summer months. This role involves performing a variety of clerical, bookkeeping, and office support duties. The position provides front-line public assistance, processes forms and records, sells tickets, assists with social media, runs errands, and offers administrative support to the Fair Board, Fair & Fairgrounds Manager, and Senior Administrative Assistant. The role requires availability during Fair week, July 18th - July 26th, and supports high-volume operations in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Up to 1 year of clerical, administrative support, and computer experience
  • Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of County policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, proofreading, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, standards, and methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, and regulations covering specific areas of assignment.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of record keeping and records management.
  • Knowledge of standard and specialized computer software applications and internet technologies.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling and ticketing procedures.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and basic digital communication practices.
  • Skills in operating standard office equipment, and business computers with standard software applications.
  • Skills in entering information into a computer system with speed and accuracy.
  • Skills in making mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Skills in providing effective customer service and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public.
  • Skills in following verbal and written instructions.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with County staff, Fair Board members, and the public.
  • Skills in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working around livestock or in agricultural settings
  • Experience with Etix or similar ticketing software
  • Experience creating and managing social media content
  • Comfort working around livestock

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic clerical and administrative support duties for assigned work group.
  • Updates and maintains a variety of electronic and paper files, records, reports, and documents.
  • Receives documents, checks for validity and accuracy, files paperwork, and enters data into computer systems.
  • Provides clerical and office assistance, including making copies, scheduling meetings, and processing mail and invoices.
  • Updates statistical information, reports, and technical documents.
  • Provides customer service and information to visitors and the public.
  • Supports positive interactions with staff and the public, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs department-related errands such as delivering materials and picking up orders.
  • Sells event tickets, processes payments, and maintains transaction records.
  • Assists Fair contestants with forms and applications, reviewing materials for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assists with social media content creation and posting.
