About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, this position provides administrative and secretarial support for the RESTS program. In addition to typing, filing, and scheduling, performs duties such as record keeping, coordination of meetings, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailings, and working on special projects. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload. Schedules and organizes activities such as meetings and program activities for all members of the program staff. Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing systems. Retrieves information from files when needed. Organizes and prioritizes large volume of information and calls. Answers phones, takes messages or fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions. Works in cooperation with and performs all clerical functions for program staff. Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, etc. Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy. Primary note taker at staff meetings. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience of administrative or clerical support experience - Required
  • Technical Capacity – Windows, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Strong professional communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years’ experience in clerical support in a community, family or justice involved setting preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
