For more information, visit nyit.edu. New York Institute of Technology seeks an Administrative Assistant for the College of Arts& Sciences (CAS) Humanities Department at our NYC campus. Reporting to the Chair of the Humanities Department, this person will provide office and administrative support for the department.

Requirements

  • A B.A/B.S. degree is required.
  • Previous experience in administration is preferred, including working with Microsoft Office Suite & Adobe Sign.
  • Previous experience using Workday software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the department chair in the operation of the office.
  • Assist and support department faculty with course scheduling, assignments, copies and proctoring.
  • Adjunct and Faculty onboarding, including appointment letters.
  • Process instructional and non-instructional compensation of full and part-time faculty.
  • Email communications and outlook meeting schedules for department chair.
  • Ordering of office supplies, departmental needs, faculty purchases, etc.
  • Assist with student/faculty/course issues (registration, scheduling, room changes, final exam scheduling, etc.)
  • Collect and store final grades and syllabi.
  • Maintain supplies (paper, ink, grade books, etc.) for the department.
  • Assist with the planning & execution of special departmental events.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned by department chair or CAS dean.
