About The Position

The University of Pikeville seeks a professional, organized, and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine. This position provides comprehensive administrative support to faculty, staff, and leadership, contributing to the efficient functioning of academic and clinical programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced academic healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior administrative experience required; experience in higher education or healthcare preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating appointments.
  • Prepare, format, and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents.
  • Serve as a point of contact for faculty, students, staff, and external stakeholders, providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain organized filing systems (electronic and physical) and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Assist with coordination of meetings, events, and special projects, including preparation of agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Support purchasing, travel arrangements, and expense documentation in accordance with university policies.
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of databases and academic or clinical systems.
  • Coordinate office operations and ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, including student and personnel records.
  • Provide general support to academic and clinical departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
