About The Position

The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provides essential services to nearly every citizen of the State, including identification, driver, and vehicle services. The DMV also licenses and oversees private businesses and government organizations involved in driver and emission testing. This role supports the Driver Services Call Center, focusing on researching, updating, and correcting driver records. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and attention to detail to ensure comprehensive and professional support transactions. This position is designated as remote but may require occasional in-office work. Applicants must be current Colorado residents.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in General Clerical and/or Call Center Customer Service work experience.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service in a call center and/or online.
  • Experience interfacing with a variety of people from many levels within the organization and community.
  • Data Entry experience, including entering information into a program or database (appointments, customer records).
  • Regular, daily work responsibilities utilizing equipment and software used in offices (E-Mail, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Apps, etc.).
  • Regular, daily work responsibilities utilizing computer systems, scanners, printers, copiers, fax machines and other technologies.
  • Typing professional emails, letters, reports, briefings, forms, memoranda, etc.
  • Reviewing and comparing data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Gathering specified information and compiling routine reports.
  • Must be a current Colorado resident and maintain residency throughout employment.
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining a home office or other suitable remote work location, as well as Internet and a secure Wi-Fi connection.

Responsibilities

  • Research, update, and correct driver records.
  • Enter data into databases and spreadsheets.
  • Provide customer service via telephone or in-person to external stakeholders and customers.
  • Translate and clarify Colorado Motor Vehicle statutes, department administrative procedures, and policy to customers.
  • Determine the effect of statutory law on a driving record and use experience and reasoning to determine the best approach for possible courses of action in response to division notices, restraints, or general licensing issues.
  • Advise customers on fee, documentation, and testing requirements.
  • Provide and instruct customers in identifying and acquiring the mandatory forms to accomplish desired actions.
  • Access spreadsheets to determine the current location of a requested file.
  • Pull paper documents, scan copies, and return originals to their proper location if the file is still on hard copy.
  • Perform filing and other retrievals as required.
