About The Position

This intermediate-level Administrative Assistant role supports the day-to-day operations of a busy breast imaging center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WDH). The position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, imaging workflows (including screening, diagnostic imaging, and breast biopsy procedures), and EPIC scheduling, along with knowledge of CPT coding nuances. The role involves regular collaboration with patients and a multidisciplinary clinical team, including technologists, nurse navigators, radiologists, and referring providers. Responsibilities include coordinating care, ensuring accurate scheduling, and supporting efficient workflow across the department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential health information while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational readiness. This role provides indirect patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma
  • Administrative Assistant or Secretarial Experience: 2-3 years required
  • Proficiency with office procedures and equipment i.e. filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to use phone system.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral skills.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
