About The Position

This is an INTERNAL recruitment, open to current, permanent WA State Department of Corrections (DOC) employees only. Our agency offers a free ORCA (transportation) card to all employees whose permanent duty station is assigned in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. DOC's Mission is to improve public safety by positively changing lives. We are looking to INTERNALLY fill a full-time, permanent Administrative Assistant 3 (AA3) vacancy within the Community Corrections Division (CCD). This position reports to and provides higher level administrative support to the Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS) for the Marysville Field Office located at 1801 Grove St, Marysville, WA 98270. Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in clerical, office, customer service, or administrative work that includes leading or supervising the work of others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload at a high level with flexibility to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Ability to work independently, read, understand, interpret policies and procedures, and develop written reports.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee office functions for the unit.
  • Evaluate office procedures and staffing needs.
  • Plan, recommend, and initiate office changes.
  • Train and mentor staff and delegate assigned work as needed.
  • Assist with the recruitment process.
  • Act as the assignments officer.
  • Manage building maintenance, office operations, and equipment and office inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
