About The Position

Under the general direction of the Administrative Officer 2, this position performs a broad range of advanced administrative, fiscal, and operational support functions requiring independent judgment, discretion, and thorough knowledge of department policies, procedures, and state regulations. Serving as the primary point of contact for the Anchorage Airport executive offices, the position provides professional customer service and administrative support to airport leadership while assisting employees, tenants, business partners, elected officials, government agencies, and members of the public, ensuring efficient office operations and a positive, professional experience for all visitors.

Requirements

  • A valid Alaska driver´s License is required for this position.
  • Must have State of Alaska Procurement level I certification or be able to obtain during the employee's probationary period.
  • Knowledge of Alaska Statues regarding evidence handling and disposition.
  • Six months of entry-level technical experience in one or more administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, and procurement.
  • One year of advanced-level clerical experience.
  • One year of post-secondary education from an accredited college (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours equals 1 year).
  • One year of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Financial Management: Understands the organization's financial processes. Prepares, justifies, and administers the program budget. Oversees procurement and contracting to achieve desired results. Monitors expenditures and uses cost-benefit thinking to set priorities.
  • Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
  • The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation, along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
