About The Position

This is a part-time position located in a secure jail environment. The Sheriff's Office Intelligence Analyst will access, compile, analyze and disseminate information collected from a variety of law enforcement sources and will translate that data into criminal intelligence information. The position will be required to prepare a variety of statistical and narrative reports including crime information bulletins, crime summaries, and officer safety reports. The position will be vital in establishing and maintaining relationships with other law enforcement agencies to exchange pertinent information. Performs other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in providing professional level, analytical and/or operational support in the criminal justice field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Current valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
  • Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check (including polygraph examination), and education/degree verification required.
  • Successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check required due to CJIS Security Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months.
  • Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview.
  • Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
