About The Position

The Burbank Police Department is seeking a detail-oriented and service-oriented Administrative Analyst I to centralize Public Records Act processing, audit readiness, systems administration, and monthly validations. Under general supervision, this role performs routine administrative, operational, research, and analytical tasks that improve responsiveness, accuracy, and risk mitigation across the Bureau. The Administrative Analyst I manages CPRA requests via the City’s portal, handling intake, scoping, timelines, and fulfillment, while researching applicable Government Codes and case law; coordinates across department bureaus and with the City Attorney to collect responsive records and finalize disclosures. Performs necessary monthly DOJ audits to ensure each inquiry complies with established parameters and implements corrective actions as needed. Serves as a system administrator to streamline Records Bureau workflows by converting paper-based processes to electronic forms and standardizing digital records. Under general supervision, to assist with a variety of routine administrative, operational, research, financial, and analytical tasks; and perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • Basic principles of public administration, governmental budgeting, and fiscal management.

  • Spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Operating modern computers and related software.

  • Compile and analyze basic financial and budgetary statements and reports.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Prepare written reports and related documents.
  • Interpret technical documents.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, the public, and outside agencies.
  • Receive confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a work-related field.
  • A valid California Class "C" driver's license or equivalent may be required at time of appointment.
  • All required licenses and certificates must be maintained throughout employment in this classification.

Responsibilities

  • Write legislative correspondence.
  • Assist with responses to departmental and citizen inquiries.
  • May assist with implementation of and compliance monitoring for contracts.
  • May supervise, train, or evaluate employees upon completion of supervisory training course(s) as determined by the direct supervisor or department manager.
  • May assist with community outreach or the administration of community programs.
  • May serve as staff to elected officials.
  • May drive on City business.
