This is an entry training level for a supervisory role. This job is a working level and typically reports into a first-level manager. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, providing leadership to employees performing routine work within a single function or work group. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Receives detailed assignments and follows established processes to meet the goals of the unit. Develops schedules and enforces policies and procedures. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the department’s operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Provides direction to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at regular intervals. Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Provides input for employees’ performance reviews and compensation reviews; recommends disciplinary action as necessary. Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.
