About The Position
Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking casual Administration Officers to join high-performing teams across a variety of specialized units at their newly established hospital. Based at the Springfield campus, this role will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield, which opened early 2026. This state-of-the-art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region, with a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency, and medical/surgical services, and is set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Requirements
- Well-developed customer service and communication skills
- Previous administration experience within a hospital or healthcare environment (essential)
- Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
Nice To Haves
- Experience using medical terminology (desirable)
- Experience with iPM or similar hospital systems (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Providing professional front-of-house and administrative support to patients, families, staff, and VMOs
- Accurately recording and maintaining patient information using hospital information systems
- Responding to general patient and VMO queries with warmth and professionalism
- Assisting with appointment and clinic management
- Supporting general administrative tasks as required
