About The Position

This position involves teaching weekly oboe lessons, assisting in preparation for recitals, attending semester-end juries, overseeing the weekly oboe studio class, teaching an introduction to oboe for non-oboist Music Education majors, and coaching chamber music as assigned. A firm commitment to the mission of BYU and the School of Music is required, along with leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in music or related field required.
  • Professional/teaching experience required.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must be willing to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • University Oboe teaching experience preferred.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
