About The Position

BYU's Rollins Center is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the ENT 434R: New Venture Launchpad course within the BYU Sandbox Program. This role involves delivering and managing hybrid courses, teaching and mentoring student entrepreneurs in building and launching software startup businesses. The instructor will provide direct mentorship, facilitate connections with experienced entrepreneurs, ensure accountability, review business progress, and evaluate products as student teams develop software systems, platforms, and applications. The curriculum covers topics such as customer discovery, product-market fit, product design and development, sales systems, go-to-market strategies, fundraising, business operations, HR management, leadership, and ethics. The instructor will design and prepare course materials in coordination with the full-time faculty coordinator, deliver classroom instruction, mentor students during and outside of class, manage student assessments and grading with assistance from teaching assistants and the faculty coordinator, and support the achievement of course learning outcomes. The course is a 14-week semester with approximately 28 class sessions.

Requirements

  • Direct relevant entrepreneurial and professional experience in the software or technology industry is required (minimum of 3-5 years of experience).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, completed by the start date.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
