About The Position

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an Adjunct Teaching professional for the College of Nursing, specifically for NURS 624 within the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program. This role involves teaching graduate FNP students, supervising them in clinical settings, and collaborating with preceptors and faculty. The position requires a Master's Degree in Nursing with an FNP focus, an unencumbered APRN license in Utah, national FNP certification, and at least five years of clinical experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for grading, providing feedback, and contributing to course delivery. Travel within Utah is required, and the candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) focus required.
  • Current, unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Utah
  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (e.g., through AANP or ANCC)
  • At least five years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach NURS 624
  • Visit students in the clinical setting
  • Collaborate with clinical preceptors
  • Supervise, support, mentor, and evaluate graduate FNP students in clinical and practicum settings
  • Facilitate or debrief simulation experiences for FNP students
  • Grade assignments, exams, and clinical documentation, and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with the course coordinator and program faculty on course delivery and student learning outcomes
