About The Position

This position involves teaching General Education writing courses in the Evening School program. The courses include WRTG 150: First-Year Writing - Writing and Rhetoric, WRTG 311: Writing about the Arts and Humanities, WRTG 312: Persuasive Writing, WRTG 313: Advanced Writing for Educators, WRTG 315: Writing in the Social Sciences, and WRTG 316: Technical Communication. The instructor will be expected to adhere to the University Writing program's learning outcomes and recommended assignments. Additionally, participation in ad hoc workshops and events coordinated by the English Department's adjunct faculty liaison is required.

Requirements

  • MA in English, MFA in Creative Writing, or a comparable field (degree must be completed by the start date).
  • College-level composition course instruction experience.
  • Updated curriculum vitae.
  • Cover letter.
  • Mission Alignment Statement.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • If a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
