About The Position

Lanier Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Political Science Instructor for part-time, non-benefits eligible employment. This position is available at various campus locations, with day and evening classes offered. Adjunct faculty are appointed on a per-academic term basis and are considered temporary, part-time employees. The targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours. A background and reference check are part of the selection process. Assistance/accommodation can be requested from Human Resources.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Political Science or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Political Science and appropriate semester hours in specific course content from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students in a variety of settings.
• Upload unofficial transcript(s) to be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching in a postsecondary environment
• Experience teaching via online instruction
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus.
• Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Administers and grades class examinations.
• Maintains records of student grades.
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
• Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor.
• Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
