About The Position

Lanier Technical College is seeking a part-time, non-benefits eligible Adjunct History Instructor. This position involves providing professional instruction based on approved course syllabi, preparing curriculum, evaluating student progress, administering and grading examinations, and maintaining student records. The instructor will also attend in-service training, ensure safety requirements are met, meet assigned deadlines, and interact with students, staff, and supervisors as needed. This role is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations with day and evening classes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in History or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in History and appropriate semester hours in specific course content from a regionally accredited college or university
• Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students in a variety of settings
• Upload unofficial transcript(s)

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching in a postsecondary environment
• Experience teaching via online instruction
• Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Administers and grades class examinations
• Maintains records of student grades
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas
• Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor
• Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed
