About The Position

Lanier Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Anatomy & Physiology Instructor. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA-exempt position. The role involves preparing and teaching classes as assigned, ensuring that course outcomes meet stated objectives, and evaluating student progress. A background and reference check are part of the selection process. This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations, with day and evening classes available. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions appointed on a per-academic term basis.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Biology or medical field with appropriate subject-related coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in appropriate subject-related coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, OR a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
  • Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students in a variety of settings.
  • Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
  • Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
  • Skill in presenting subject matter
  • Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
  • Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of student information systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching in a postsecondary environment
  • Experience teaching via online instruction
  • Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus.
  • Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.
  • Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Administers and grades class examinations.
  • Maintains records of student grades.
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed.
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
  • Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor.
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
